Food-grade linseed oil: ALA and omega-3 content
Cold-pressed food-grade linseed oil is valued for its high alpha-linolenic acid (ALA, an omega-3 fatty acid) content, typically 50–60% of total fatty acids. Food contracts reference the ALA profile, peroxide value, acid value and heavy-metal screens suitable for human consumption in dietary supplements and functional foods. Each cargo ships with a Certificate of Analysis confirming fatty-acid composition and oxidative stability parameters.
Industrial linseed oil: drying oil and stand oil
For coatings and industrial applications, linseed oil is one of the most established drying oils — it polymerizes on exposure to air to form a tough film. Demetra Trading supplies refined industrial grades and boiled / stand oil (polymerized linseed oil) with agreed viscosity, iodine value and acid bands for paint, varnish, linoleum and bio-composite production. Boiled and stand oil grades reduce drying time compared with raw linseed oil and are specified by Gardner colour and viscosity.
Packaging, loading and parcel sizes
Packaging ranges from 200 L drums and IBC totes for trial and specialty lots, through flexitanks in 20 ft containers and bulk sea transport for larger programs. Shipments load from Black Sea and Baltic ports on FOB terms, with CIF to destination ports available on request.
